So you’ve set the date, maybe booked a venue and started to browse for dresses but how do you start shopping for flowers?

Flowers are not an off-the-shelf purchase, they are created and designed to suit the individual, budget, and time of the year – so many factors to consider, it’s not surprising that so many couples don’t know where to start.

And how do you know what flowers cost when you may have never bought flowers in this quantity before?

To avoid those awkward conversations I have included a few pointers on my Wedding Page. So whether you want to spend £300 or £3000 there will be a guideline to what you can expect for your hard-earned cash.  Now you can start to draw up a wish list of floral arrangements you would like on your day, vs items that are a secondary requirement or a DIY opportunity.

Theme

Next on the list would be to consider a theme – do you have one?  Do you even want one?  Do you need help with creating this?  A good starting point would be a focal colour – maybe a bridesmaid dress, a favourite or meaningful colour in your relationship?   Have you discovered Pinterest – a great source of inspiration for a colour palette with more floral ideas than you will ever need!

Do you have a favourite flower?  You may be surprised that many people don’t – but if you were buying flowers for your home what would you be attracted to.  A luxury rose, a pop of colour with a gerbera, maybe a sunflower?

So armed with your newfound pricing knowledge, your wish list and perhaps a few vague ideas of flowers you have more than enough to start your floral conversations.bride holding bouquet of calla lilies

Flower Consultation

Your flower consultation can be a telephone conversation, a video call or a face-to-face meeting.  I do love a face to face as this gives us both the chance to get to know each other and more easily share information.  I gain a lot of insight this way about your style and what’s important for you on your day.  Your consultation costs absolutely nothing and is the perfect opportunity to ask all of the questions and explore all of the potential costs for even those secondary items that you are not sure about.  Presented with a couple’s budget I love the challenge of exploring ways for you to achieve your complete wish list without breaking the bank – there’s usually options!

After your consultation you will be sent your Flower Order – this could be an itemised list of everything that you are considering, or we may offer an all-inclusive package deal.  If all goes well and you are happy to book a 25% deposit will confirm your booking and your date will be fixed in the diary.  The balance will not be due until 6-8 weeks before your wedding date.*

THIS IS IMPORTANT – YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR MIND! Your wedding plans will change, perhaps a bridesmaid dress or suit colour that might affect your flowers. Table numbers and buttonhole numbers will change and are often confirmed at the last minute. Your order is flexible and can be changed multiple times before your date.

*We can offer to reduce the deposit on request and can accept payment by instalments if this is preferable.

Enquiries cost nothing – drop me an email with any of those burning questions.
