Kent Wedding Florist

Weddings are the heart and soul of my business. I started my business in 2006 and knew I wanted to specialise in weddings. A shop wasn’t for me as I wanted to dedicate my time to getting to know my couples and work with them to achieve their dream day. I just love the creativity and knowing that what I do makes people happy. The excitement never goes away, I look forward to meeting every new couple as much as I did when I started out!

I am constantly updating this page to ensure you have all the information you need to hand when selecting your wedding florist.  I am particularly keen to change the whole mystery in pricing so have listed my price points giving you complete transparency.  So whether you want to understand more about budgeting, how to make an enquiry, what happens after booking, testimonials from previous clients please scroll down to find out more.

And if I haven’t answered your question then please ask – who knows you could inspire my next blog or social media post!

So what exactly do we do?

From bouquets, buttonholes, flower girl wands and all of your bridal flowers to dressing your church and ceremony.  Perhaps pew ends, lanterns, a meadow of flowers running down your aisle or even an archway.

Then for your reception we can dress and style your tables with tall wow-factor centrepieces or simple low level pretty focal pieces, arches can be moved to frame your top table or to create a photowall for your guests.

Perhaps you are having long tables and are visualising runners of flowers, foliage bathed in candlelight.

Is your cake the focal point of your reception?  We can frame the cake with a pretty arch or floral backdrop.

The possibilities are endless.  And I am totally behind you with giving you the most value for money – my favourite designs are meticulously planned to be repurposed and gifted to friends and family at the end of the day.  Whatever your budget there will be floral opportunities for your big day.

You probably want to have a rough idea of where to set your budget before speaking to a florist.  You will find a variation from one supplier to another due to location, overheads, business styles etc.  I like to think I sit somewhere in the mid-range price bracket.  Here’s a guideline of what you could get for your money.

  • 3,000 +++ the sky’s the limit!  Ths will cover the best of the best flowers for your bridal flowers, ceremony, table arrangements and any installations – arch/ceiling etc. This will take careful project management and a team of professionals to create your vision.
  • £2,000 – £3,000  will buy the best quality flowers to feature throughout your wedding including all of your bouquets, ceremony flowers, reception flowers, an arch or similar installation and much more.
  • £1500 – £2,000 – the ideal budget to pretty much secure a complete package of amazing flowers for you.  Usually sufficient for all of your bouquets, buttonholes, ceremony and venue flowers plus a showstopping entrance piece.
  • £1,000 – £1,500 – all bouquets, buttonholes and tablecentres should be covered with this budget, possibly a simple aisle dressing or props to hire
  • £500 – £1000 – will cover bouquets and buttonholes plus a smaller/simpler range of table centres and a top table.  Ideal for a full microwedding package.
  • £500 – my minimum spend for a package of wedding flowers only – so bouquets and buttonholes, possibly a simple ceremony table arrangement that you can re-purpose to your top table.

Less than £500 spend ?

A great comparison if you are considering creating your own flowers.  Did you know we can supply your flowers for you – direct from wholesale so that you have the best quality for your day. Plus we offer wedding workshops for you to practise your designs and ask all the questions you need.

  • Expect to pay around £135 for a bridal bouquet and £80ish for bridesmaids, buttonholes around £10 each and corsages from £15
  • Consider hiring props for your aisles and tablecentres – lanterns, vases with LED candles.  Add simple bud vases with single stems. Check out our PROPS page
  • DIY your tablecentres – practise ahead of time
  • Why not book our wedding workshop for the perfect opportunity to practise your flowers, and to ask all of those questions!

How to make an enquiry for your flowers

You can contact Marion by telephone, email, Whatsapp or social media.  There is never a bad way to make an enquiry!

My first questions will be what is your wedding date and where is your venue?

Please send me any of your ideas, pictures, Pinterest boards – anything that will give me an idea of your vision for your day.

If you have an idea of your proposed spend then this is great information as I will plan your flowers to suit your budget to make sure we can achieve everything or almost everything on your wish list!

If you are unsure of where to start a consultation is perfect for you.  I guarantee you will have a plan, colour scheme and a list of proposed flowers afterwards.

Everyone is welcome to a free face to face consultation.  I run these at home where I work and will be preparing your flowers, I believe it is good for you to see my workspace.  However not everyone has the time for this so emails, telephone calls or even a video call can work too.

You can book with a 25% deposit and then no further payment will be required until nearer your date.  Payment plans are available if you wish to split the cost.

THIS IS IMPORTANT – YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR MIND!  Your wedding plans will change, perhaps a bridesmaid dress or suit colour that might affect your flowers.  Table numbers and buttonhole numbers will change and are often confirmed at the last minute.  Your order is flexible and can be changed multiple times before your date.

Our Wedding Fair season is now over until the Autumn whilst we are busy working on some beautiful weddings.  However I always have time during the week for new consultations – face to face or phone.

Did you know I also offer hen parties!  You can get together with your bride team and create a flower crown or other arrangement and we will happily organise venue plus drinks, refreshments, entertainment on request.  Get in touch to discuss.

The importance of choosing the right flowers for your wedding day

Flowers are not just beautiful decorations; they play a significant role in your wedding day. Your wedding flowers should reflect your personality and style as a couple,  they should compliment your venue and compliment the overall theme of your wedding.

When choosing your wedding flowers, consider the season, your venue, and your personal style. Seasonal flowers are easier to source and are always more affordable than out-of-season blooms. Your venue may also impact your choice of flowers, as certain flowers may clash with the decor or not be suitable for the space. Lastly, your personal style should also be considered. Do you prefer classic, timeless flowers, or are you more drawn to bold and vibrant blooms?

Finding the right florist for your wedding

Finding the right florist for your wedding is crucial to ensuring that your floral arrangements are perfect. Research florists in your area and read reviews from past clients. Look at their portfolio to ensure that their style matches your vision for your wedding flowers.

When meeting with potential florists, be clear about your budget and your vision for your wedding flowers. A good florist will work with you to create a plan that fits your budget and matches your style.

When should I book my wedding florist?

Aim to book at least a year ahead if you a planning a Saturday or Bank Holiday Wedding.   Midweek weddings tend to have more availability.  Having said this I love a challenge so if you are looking for a florist next week give me a ring!

I do love to be involved in the early wedding planning stages, and can help you create your colour scheme and develop your flower ideas.  Our Mood Boards can be a source of reference for all of your wedding extras, to match stationery, accessories etc.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t know your peonies from your pansies, that’s a florists job to take care of.  A favourite flower and maybe your colours is all you need to start the conversation.  You don’t know what you don’t know!

And your first conversation won’t necessarily be your last.  Flower planning is more often than not a journey.  As your wedding evolves then so will your flowers, adapting along the way.  Your booking will be to save the date with a rough guide to quantity of flowers needed, we fill the gaps along the way!

How much do Marion’s Wedding Flowers cost?

Our bespoke service caters to your specific flower selection, colours and style which we will discuss in-depth during your consultation.  A typical collection of wedding flowers including wedding bouquets and venue decor starts at around £1500.

For more intimate or micro weddings,  I’m eager to help design fresh floral arrangements that suit your venue and requirements.  For more budget conscious couples ask for our FIXED RATE BRIDAL PACKAGES for just £500.  Don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss your vision – I can’t wait to bring it to life.

Why should I choose Flowers by Marion over a High St florist?

Firstly all of our flowers are bought especially for each and every client, we will never use old stock – we simply don’t have any. My favourite advantage is the time I get to devote my couples without interruption. Being online I can answer your emails or queries very quickly – you will have a personal florist from the moment of booking right up until your big day. I like to feel we offer a more specialised service – running a shop would just get in the way!

My wedding is months away, how do I know you will still be in business?

This is a very sensible question in the current climate. To try and reassure you first of all that I have been in business since 2006, have already survived one recession and also the pandemic. The fact that I have a website is proof of our professionalism, I have invested in a good site and maintain the site on a regular basis. Many small short-term companies will just run from Facebook (this costs nothing to set-up or run). My business is my life and passion. Flowers by Marion is very active on social media posting pics of our work, live weddings and new developments as they happen. We invite you to follow us and stay in touch. Don’t just take my word for it – take a moment to read some of my testimonials.

What happens on the day of my wedding?

We will already have discussed your plans for getting ready and where each flower arrangement needs to be. Bridal flowers can be delivered to you and we will set up your church and/or venue, I aim to complete appx 2 hours before any guests arrive. For large set-ups I will recruit the help of freelance stylists or florists if required.  Read more on Behind the Scenes Wedding Flowers

Do you hire any vases or props?

Yes we offer a full range of floral arches, vases, pedestals, lanterns, plus chair covers, sashes, postbox and many other wedding related items.  The great news is that all of your table glassware and sundries are offered free to hire for our wedding clients.  We will also consider buying anything in that you may need. All of our hire items carry a refundable damage deposit which is returned to you when everything is back on our premises undamaged.

“We had our wedding just a few weeks ago on the 16th August at The Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich and had an absolutely wonderful day. We first met Marion earlier this year at a flower show in Bluewater and from the very first moment knew she would do a perfect job. Needless to say Marion and her team went above and beyond on the day and cannot recommend highly enough. Great service. 5 STAR. Guy and Caroline xx (August 2019)”

The London Golf Club, Kent.  September 2022

Yemi & I couldn’t be happier with your stunning bouquets, arch and displays you put together for us on our wedding day.  We have never seen anything so beautiful, you took us out of London (as much as we love it!) and into a fairytale.  While we chatted quite a bit about the arrangements and bouquets we had no idea just how gorgeous our shared vision would turn out.  You are a true master of your trade!

Eltham Parish Church & The Royal Blackheath Golf Club, April 2023

Marion,  You completely executed my vision and I couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful display. My arch was amazing and my beautiful bouquets were absolutely the spring florals I had wanted. The flowers lasted for so long after I was able to press some flowers and enjoy them for over a week after our special day.

The tablescapes were so beautiful and just completely jaw dropping. Weeks on from the wedding, I’m still getting compliments.

Thank you so much!!!
